Larrivée L-03FM Flamed Maple Limited Run

Recently Larrivée informed me that they would be building a small number of 03 Series guitars with “Flamed Maple” back and sides. I took a chance and ordered an L body one. I was really surprised when the guitar came in.

The back and sides of this guitar are incredibly highly flamed maple. The top is extremely close grained Sitka Spruce, over twenty grain lines per inch! Also, it is straight grained and nicely quarter sawn.

The guitar is has a very quick response, a typical characteristic of Maple guitars. But, it is surprisingly warm and sweet with great sustain--not typical of Maple guitars. It is loud, with a deep but clean bass.

In short this is an exceptional guitar in every respect.

Additional Specs:

One piece genuine Mahogany neck, ebony bridge, fingerboard and face plate.

Wood bindings on the body. Ivoroid bound fingerboard. Herringbone purfling in the center section of the rosette.

Dovetail neck joint.

Deluxe arched lid hardshell case, with blue “crushed velvet” style lining.
