Deering Golden Era Custom (2001)

This is Deering’s version of the 1930’s famous maker’s banjo. It has a fuller neck, like the ‘30s banjos. Standard features include the Deering sand-cast 20 hole flathead tone ring, three ply rock maple rim, curly maple neck and resonator with a Cremona sunburst stain and the Hearts and Flowers pattern inlays in an ebony fingerboard. The internal resonator wall is tapered for greater volume.

This banjo was a special order, with chrome plated hardware instead of the usual nickel. The appearance isn’t much different, but it won’t tarnish like nickel. The hardware needs only an occasional quick wiping to keep it looking like new.
