Pimentel & Sons™ Acoustica M-6 (1981)

Dreadnought. Solid spruce top. Solid mahogany back and sides. One piece mahogany neck. Rosewood bridge with long saddle. Rosewood fingerboard. Schaller M6 machines. All gloss finish, including the neck and headstock. The neck contour is similar to the Martin modified V, but the neck is not as thick.

This guitar was in an out of the way spot in my store for many years so it was not shown or put on the website.

Specs: Nut: 1 ¾”. Scale: ~ 25 ¼”. Lower bout: 16”. Body depth: 3/3/4”-4/5/8”.

Pimentel & Sons™ is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is a family business, started in 1951 by Lorenzo Pimentel. He passed a way a few years ago. The shop is now run by his sons. Currently all guitars are built only on a custom order basis. I believe that if ordered today this guitar would cost at least $2500.00.

The finish around the bridge shows evidence of not being polished until after the bridge was installed. It is purely cosmetic.

This guitar has a warm, sweet sound, like an old guitar that had been played a lot. It is a great value in an American made guitar.
